A Firm That Understands
Choosing an attorney is an important decision. That importance is even greater when you are choosing for your church or faith-based non-profit.
It is crucial that your organization's attorney understand the unique challenges that people of faith face in their day-to-day operations.
Wise Counsel was formed to provide people of faith the option of working with a law firm that not only understands, but shares their worldview.
Although he was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, Gary Yeldell grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Yeldell attended college at the University of Florida where he obtained both a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory and a Juris Doctorate (earning "Order of the Coif" honors). After Law School, Gary moved back to Jacksonville where he started his legal career in complex commercial litigation as well as Labor & Employment matters.
During the first decade of practice, Gary developed special expertise in disputes involving the protection of church assets and church staff members. In 2009, Mr. Yeldell formed his own firm, Wise Counsel Legal Services. Wise Counsel is a unique firm that devotes its time and energy exclusively to legal matters involving churches and other faith-based organizations. Mr. Yeldell has been a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator as well as a Christian Conciliator certified by Peacemakers Ministries.
In addition to leading seminars around the state and writing employment or church law columns for several periodicals, Gary enjoys volunteering his time and energy serving on the Board of numerous non-profit organizations.
As an avid sportsman, when he’s not busy working, volunteering, or at church, one can usually find Gary (along with his wife Amy and their two children, Jessi & Will) somewhere in, on or around the woods or the water.
