Churches are becoming targets. Whether the attack is coming from long-time members, the recently joined, or those who are simply taking advantage of what they see as an easy mark, the clergy, churches and other religious organizations are more and more the subject of litigation. Whereas a generation ago, lawyers would shy away from suing a church or a Pastor, there is a host of lawyers today that are making a career out of threatening and suing churches and the clergy. While the risk of being sued has increased, most churches' ability to protect themselves from such attack has not.
